A True Pro Wrestling Fan’s Haven. Eye Opening DVDs and So Much More!

RF Video

You really have to be a hardcore pro wrestling fan to truly appreciate RF Video’s offerings. You also have to be a hardcore fan to understand the scandal that the site’s owner went through and the fall out.

However, that is a story for another day. I am not here to pass judgment on the personal lives of the people who run the site, just on the service and quality of said site. Having said that, RF Video fills a very unique niche for pro wrestling fans who want more than just the typical canned pay per views and carefully orchestrated entertainment videos put out by WWE and TNA.

What the Site Sells

Pro wrestling "shoot" videos, independent promotion wrestling shows, Japanese promotion wrestling shows, Best Ofs, In Memory Ofs, Specialty Match DVDs, Women’s Wrestling, Original ECW pay per views and fan cam DVDs, some official WWE and TNA DVDs, and much, much more. Also, the site sells action figures, autographed merchandise, books and programs, wrestling related clothing, wrestling tickets, and just about anything else that an ardent fans could want.

The site has grown from a little amateur one to a huge superstore over the years and the quality of production has increased considerably.

Navigation

The site is not hard to navigate but it could take hours to simply browse because of the sheer number of things for sale on there. The homepage has a banner with wrestlers we all know across the top and their current sales and specials.

There are several offerings on the homepage and, down the left side is a huge list of categories and areas to choose from. You can perform a keyword search which will hone down the offerings and get you to your destination quicker than browsing.

Click on a category and subcategories come up. Click on one and you will see several DVD covers and the names of each if they are DVDs. You will get clear photos of other merchandise if that is what you seek.

If you see something you are interested in, click on the photo. That will bring up a larger picture and a huge description of what is on the DVD (or what the other offerings include). The descriptions are the best I have ever seen and leave nothing to the imagination as far as whether you want the item or not.

If you do, click to add it to your cart.

Spend several hours doing the same. Well, I do. You probably won’t get that into searching for a gem of a DVD in with all of the others.

At any time, you can find out what your shipping charges are by inputting your zip code into a box. The shipping will adjust as you continue shopping. There is also a very easy shipping chart to refer to.

When you are done shopping, you go to checkout.

Always remember to check the front page for their current specials. They often have sales and you may need codes to get your discounts so be sure to take note of those sales when you log on and use the code if needed.

Returning customers can long in, new ones must fill in all the usual info.

You can opt to become a member or just proceed. You will note that, often, a discount is taken off a purchase without a code. They have many incentives to shop there and have sales all the time. I ordered a $20.00 DVD and was surprised to see that I got a $3.00 discount on it. Bonus!

Fill in your major credit card details and expiry date and you are good to go. You will get a confirmation email and a shipping one.

Shipping is quick. I get my orders in a few days.

You can also send in a check or money order via mail.

My Experience

I have had lots of experiences on this site. When it was a small, amateur company, I ordered shoot videos. They weren’t the best quality but they were really interesting. As the site grew, I continued to order DVDs and videos. Then there were personal issues with the site’s owner and I boycotted the site for a while.

I came back when I saw that it was now very professional and accepted by many promotions and wrestling stars.

The site is bigger now but maybe not better. I kind of liked the one-man camera crew and the tell it all wrestlers just sitting there talking about the inside of wrestling that is so rare to hear about.

Still, the amount of items on the site now is staggering and the prices are good. Many DVDs can’t be found elsewhere that I know of and I have never once had a bad experience as far as ordering and getting my products in a timely fashion.

Shipping and Returns

They ship internationally and there is a shipping chart on the site for rates.

In the US, rates are as follows as of October, 2006:

1-2 items – $4.95

3 items – $5.95

4 items – $6.95

5 items – $7.95

6 items – $8.95

$1.00 extra for each item.

Merchandise can be returned and replaced within 30 days. You can’t get a refund because you obviously could copy the DVD or video and then send it back. I think they are pretty liberal about their returns policy though giving you 30 days to determine if the product is defective.

You must contact the site first before returning anything and get an RMA number. You have to pay for shipping back to them. I don’t think you have to pay for return shipping for your replacement (I am almost sure you don’t).

Conclusion

From a little rinky-dink operation to a dull blown mega loaded website, RF Video has had its ups and downs but one thing remains certain. They have some of the best videos, DVDs, and other wrestling items on the net. They even sell official WWE DVDs now, which is a huge change from the old days where most of their stock was "underground" stuff. There are no WWE "shoot" videos on the site that I saw (unless orchestrated by WWE and resold by RF) but many stars choose to do shoot videos and Q & A’s after they leave WWE or while they are on the independent circuit. Some of these are eye opening and riveting.

The site sells much more now than DVDs and videos but I have never purchased anything else. I have always had good experiences with the site. I never got a defective video or DVD and everything has gone smoothly for me.

As a business entity, RF Video is the place to go for rare, unique, and independent wrestling DVDs and videos as well as tons of other items related to pro wrestling. Prices are fair and shipping is fast.

They have sales seemingly all the time and handle themselves in a professional manner.

I give this site 4 stars. I held back a star for personal reasons and because it isn’t perfect but it is very good for what it is. I sort of miss the old days when they were less PC and more edgy but this step was necessary to regain their fan base and grow so I will begrudgingly accept the bigger site as long as they keep churning out unique stuff along with the mainstream.
