Playboy

Before I start, I want you to know I was at Playboy to buy a piece of jewelry and not the magazine. Just thought I would get that out of the way before I launched into the review of the website.

Playboy is obviously an adult website. The front page is colorful and filled with sexy women nearly naked. There is no actual nudity on the page but it’s as close as you can get without showing nipples and other graphic bits. The page prominently displays the magazine cover of the month and many of the babes who apparently are in it or were in it. There is also a section to click on called "Ask Hef Anything" which leads you to a video of him answering a question and a bunch of stuff that you can do if you didn’t go there to actually purchase something.

Because I had gone there to buy something, I bypassed the riveting bunny stories and went to the small, almost hidden "PlayboyStore.com" graphic on the middle right hand side of the page.

The Shopping Part of the Site

Once you get past all the women and plugs for the magazine, you enter the shop. There, they sell the following:

Apparel: Accessories, Bottoms, Outerwear, Swimwear, Tops

Lingerie: Body Stockings, Bras/Panties, Cami Sets, Chemises/Teddies, Dresses, Sleepwear

Jewelry: Body Jewelry, Bracelets/Anklets, Navel Rings, Necklaces/Earrings

But there is more! They also have items for the home, magazines and books, DVDs and videos, collectables, stuff for men, and a clearance section. This is a fairly fully stocked store for a site known for just one thing. (Their magazine is what I was referring to!).

Navigation

Real simple. Just click the links and see what they are offering. It isn’t complicated at all and the photos are clear, descriptions are good, prices are often high…

I went to the site to buy a cute black necklace with the signature bunny charm on it and found it in a few minutes after clicking on the home page.

Shopping

As with most sites, you need to pick the quantity of the item you want and put it/them into your cart. When you are done, you go to the checkout. If you have a saved user name and password, you then input those. If not, you can click on the check out without user name and password and continue on. The next page brings you to the personal info page where you fill in all the usual stuff — name, address, phone number, email address, etc.

You are taken to the shipping page where you choose your method of shipping.

Shipping Costs

There are a few ways to get your items shipped to you. You can choose from:

Standard Delivery (5-10 business days)

2nd Day (Order by 11 a.m. CT Monday-Friday)

Next Day (Order by 11 a.m. CT Monday-Friday – No Saturday Deliveries)

There is a page for shipping rates to compare second and next day rates as well as standard and it is very easily accessible.

The site takes Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and AmEx credit cards.

Returns

Their return policy is a good one. This is taken from the returns page of the site:

Every item you purchase from the Playboy Store comes with a return privilege. We want you to be 100% satisfied with your selections. If any item you receive is defective or you receive incorrect merchandise, we promise to make it right with a refund or exchange up to one month after you receive your purchase.

Please contact Customer Service via e-mail at pbstore@playboy.com or call us toll-free at (800) 993-6339 Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. CT and Saturday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. CT to obtain a prepaid postage label, which you may use to return merchandise to us for a refund or exchange.

I did question if I could return an item that I wasn’t happy with that wasn’t defective or incorrect and was told the same rules apply and all I had to do was to call them for a shipping label.

Receiving Your Items

I got an instant email after ordering and another one when my item was shipped.

While I don’t care if my postman knows I am ordering from Playboy, many people do. Everything is discretely packaged and has no indication that it is from Playboy. You’ll have no worries about the kids or neighbors seeing a big old box of Playboy goodies in your mailbox.

I got my item in about a week. I was pleased with the packaging and the item itself. I had no reason to call or use customer service for a return but the policy is quite liberal as you saw.

There is a "Contact Us" page on the site where you can write to the site and ask any questions you may have.

You can also call them at 1(800)993-6339 with inquiries or to order by phone.

Conclusion

Playboy has a lot more than a monthly magazine for sale. There are a lot of neat items from jewelry to T-shirts to lingerie and even things for the home (but don’t be expecting a socket wrench or a blender, we’re talking the bedroom part of the home for the most part).

Their clearance prices are great, their regular ones are a bit steep depending on the item. There are a lot of really revealing items in the lingerie section which would make great bridal shower gifts or even gifts for your own anniversary (or for no reason at all!). They also have men’s items but they are limited to T-shirts, money clips, some jewelry, and carry bags. No men’s lingerie on this site.

Their shipping is reasonable, their customer service is good, and their quality is average to above average depending on the items. They are discreet and fast and are there for you if you have a problem.

While I only shopped at this site twice, both of my experiences were fine.

There was absolutely no hassles at all with this site.

I give it four stars. I only do that because it’s somewhat tough to find the actual shop from the home page and because the prices are a bit steep on many items. Otherwise, go forward and shop with confidence. And enjoy your bunny stuff!
