A Deal a Day Keeps That Doesn’t Keep Me Away!

I Have to Have That

Seeing the success of Woot!, a deal a day electronics website, several others have started their one own product per day sites. One I recently reviewed was Crazy Mom Deals and another I just bought something from is called I Have To Have That.

I like the site and had a good experience my first go round. I am sure I will have others and will update if things change but at this writing, I am quite happy with the site.

What the Site Sells

This site sells one deal a day or until the product is sold out. Usually it is electronic with some software thrown in. It doesn’t stick just to computers. It has everything from cameras to DVD players and even ear buds. They also have a side deal which runs with the main deal. You can check on quantities of past deals as well and, if any are left, pick up some of those.

Navigation and Ordering

There isn’t much to navigate! The site is just a page with the current deal along with a very good description of what you will be getting. The side deal is plainly pictured and a click will take you to that deal’s description. There is also a list of past deals which you can check out and order if quantities are available.

Unlike Woot!, I saw no forums or anywhere to discuss the deals with other shoppers. I do like that you can sign up for notifications when a new deal is posted so you don’t have to go to the site and check every day to see what’s being offered though.

If you want the deal, click to buy. They will offer you things like the side deal and accessories for a low cost and no extra shipping if you want them. You can pick what you want or bypass that page and directly checkout. Shipping is NOT a flat rate. It is based on actual shipping charges and ranges from $5.00-$9.00 from what I have seen. When you add quantities, it goes up.

You can pay by major credit card or paypal. You will receive your order confirmation immediately and another email when the item ships. My order came in eight days, properly packed and as described.

My Experience

I think I saw the link to this site on Woot! and ended up there. I signed up for their email notifications and finally, one day I saw something I wanted.

Buying was simple. I clicked to buy the item, chose a quantity of one and was offered some stuff for really low prices. I bypassed them and paid by paypal. I was charged $5.00 shipping and no tax.

My order arrived packed well and just as described. I was worried because there are no returns unless the item was defective but my item was fine and all was well.

I will go back again and buy when I see something else that strikes my fancy. Much of what IHTHT sells is not junky like Woot’s fare but some is refurbished so read descriptions carefully and you should be pleased with your purchases.

Shipping and Returns

Shipping is not fixed. The site claims they keep it as low as possible and often charge only what they are charged to ship the items. I prefer a fixed shipping rate but I don’t think the site inflates their shipping charges from what I have seen.

They only ship in the United States.

The returns policy is no policy. They don’t accept returns for any reason except for defective merchandise. If you don’t like a deal, they suggest selling it on eBay or giving it as a gift. The prices really ARE good but I am not so sure I would want to buy something expensive from them knowing I couldn’t return it is it wasn’t to my liking.

Conclusion

I Have To Have That is nowhere near the cult favorite that Woot! is but they do sell some good items are very low prices. My order was for two silly little keychain cameras (My son made me do it.) and they’re adorable and actually work better than I expected for what they cost.

I had no problems ordering, paying, getting emails, or receiving my order and I am happy with what I purchased. I also like that I get emails telling me when a deal is sold out and another is posted so I don’t have to keep checking. They post a new deal immediately after the old one sells out if it does before the 24 hour period so there could be several deals in a day if they have popular items or low quantities.

This site treated me just fine and I will return. I give it 4 stars because I don’t like that the shipping fee is not fixed and I don’t know what it is until I click to buy (I can back out but still…). If the shipping were a flat $5.00 like at Woot!, this site would rock big time. As it is, it’s still a good place for electronics and accessories — a deal at a time.
