The beginning of every month brings a slew of new offering.

We sat around today and compared new, clearance and refurb desktop computers from HP, Toshiba, Fujitsu and many more famous makers. We also looked at some of our favorite clearance sites including Buy.com and JR Music World.

We’re geeks. We even set up a spreadsheet to compare RAM, prices and features. After all, every decent shopping site has a compare feature, but how many have a compare across multiple sites? Since they don’t, we used Chrome and Google Docs to build our own.

Sue us. It was a late Friday afternoon at the end of the month when we had already met the sales budget.

Then we found her.

This is one hot computer.  Even CNet, which often doesn’t recommend anyone who isn’t advertising heavily that week, couldn’t exactly slam it.  That’s because the HP Pavilion 6214 we found has a 8 gig of RAM, 1 terabyte hard drive and Windows System 7.  All for less than $400

So it’s a refurb unit.  Who cares?  Refurbs work well, which is why they’re so popular.    How hot is this Pavilion?  We bought one.  You should too.
