Low Prices On Hot Holiday Toy Saves The Day

Wal-Mart.com

It was Christmas, and I needed the hot toy.

Amazon out of stock.

SmarterKids out of stock

eToys out of stock.

Bluelight over my dead body would I shop there again

Sears ditto.

In a fine out-of-stock pickle, I went to Wal-Mart.

Yes, Wal-Mart Had The Hot Holiday Toy

Wal-Mart had the Quantum Leap Pad in stock with the bestprice. Beyond the Quantum Leap Pad, Wal-Mart’s selection of books for the pad was better than any of the specialyt toy stores, and they were in stock too.

I went through the order process like a breeze. The Wal-Mart Leap Pad section was well organized and highly navigable. Surprisingly, finding what I needed on Wal-Mart was easier than those toy retailers who made me search or drill down rather than just browse.

Email notifications kept me apprised of my order status, without overkill. I knew what was going on with my order, without constant status reports. My order arrived about a week after I checked out.

Wal-Mart.com Shopping Tips

First: Shipping costs. Make sure you know what they are to your location. Wal-Mart has gotten much better at this.

The box surprised me, though, and I can’t understand how my order arrived undamaged. In addition to $200 worth of Leap Pad products, I’d ordered a $20 play tent. Everything was thrown into one big carton. On top of that, there must be a packing tape shortage in Walmartville, because this big, heavy box had just one piece of tape on the top and one piece of tape on each side. The carton was almost open when it arrived, but that may also have been a Christmas rush part-timer.

Steals and Deals

Wal-Mart’s low prices are their ace in the hole. Even if items aren’t “on sale”, they’re usually found a great price. There was a minor issue with the carton, but between pricing and availability, Wal-Mart.com is worth your consideration.
