My experimentation with mineral makeup continues and I have tried several kinds now. I never thought I could wear the stuff but, I am learning, I can if I apply it correctly

Anyway, one site I visited was LotusMinerals.

This is a friendly, interesting site with good customer service and quality that I will order from again.

What the Site Sells

This site sells all natural mineral makeup, brushes, and kits.

Navigation and Variety

Navigation is easy. Each major category has a tab and all the products are thumbnailed under each tab. Variety is good. There are many color choices and the swatches are big enough to make informed shade decisions.

There is also information on the products, customer experiences, and other info for you to read to learn about which products and shades are best for you.

Once you have finished shopping, you go to the checkout. You have to register with a password to checkout. It’s just a small hassle since the info you provide is your shipping and billing address(es) and email.

Once you get past that, choose from UPS Ground, USPS Priority, or Next Day shipping. Shipping costs will be clearly shown so you can decide which is the best deal for you.

Input your AmEx, Discover Card, MasterCard, or Visa number and expiry and you’re done.

You will receive a confirmation and shipping email.

Orders arrive in a timely manner, very nicely boxed and in tissue paper with an instruction sheet.

My Experience

The site offers three sample shades of mineral foundation for free (just pay shipping and handling). I didn’t go that route but it is a great way to try to find your perfect shade.

I have been trying different mineral makeup for a column that I am writing elsewhere on the net and was lost as to what shades to try in foundation.

I wrote to the site and the response was warm and very helpful. The person even looked at a picture of me and gave me suggestions based on that and my description of my coloring. Sage advice because the shade suggestions were dead on.

We exchanged a couple more emails about how to apply the make up and what is best for dry skin – all timely, friendly, and very helpful.

Actual ordering was easy. I picked what I wanted and flew through the checkout process. I was informed along the way of when my order was shipped and given a tracking number.

My order arrived in a nice box and, inside, very generous sized products were carefully wrapped in tissue paper.

Even after my order, I emailed customer service again asking a quick question and was responded to quickly and in a friendly manner. It makes so much difference talking to a REAL person involved in the formulation of products rather than a generic hired person unfamiliar with the products and just reading what to say from a script.

This is not a review of the products, but they are high quality, very silky, and excellent. I am so impressed with these smaller companies producing such wonderful mineral makeup. And the prices! Very affordable.

LotusMinerals is right up there with My Mineral Glitters as far as quality, value, and great customer service.

Shipping and Returns

Shipping is based on your order total and is reasonable. You have the choice of three shipping methods. They don’t have a shipping chart on the site that I could find but you can always see how much shipping is after you log in and go to your cart.

Their return policy is a stand out. They will exchange shades for just the cost of shipping.

You can return any product within 60 days of purchase for a refund. That’s very unique to cosmetic sites and gives me peace of mind that I won’t be stuck with products that don’t match or agree with my skin.

Conclusion

LotusMinerals is impressive! Their quality is high, their prices are very fair and their quantities are generous. Shipping is reasonable and they accept returns. They also have wonderful, friendly customer service.

They’re not “the big guys” when it comes to mineral makeup but they are a fantastic alternative that will save you money.

I’m very happy with my order and will return for some lip gloss, more eye shadows, and other things.
