La Senza
I admit I am a Victoria’s Secret lover but I like to shop at other, less expensive places as well. I was introduced to La Senza by a friend a few years ago. The site is Canadian but gives all prices in both Canadian and US dollars so you know what you are paying. However, it can get a bit confusing when you see sales that say "Special Just $10.00" because everything is in CAD. Therefore, you will get a nice surprise if you click on that sale because the US price is even lower. If you don’t mind that little bit of confusion, the site has a great stock of fun and flirty items for well under prices of American intimate apparel stores or websites.
What is La Senza?
La Senza is a Canadian lingerie/sleepwear/intimate apparel/loungewear/accessories website that has cute things for good prices. The focus isn’t so much on the bedroom but on the things we wear every day to work or to play. Most items are colorful and cute rather than outwardly sexy. There is a sexy line but this site is more for the woman who likes to be a little sassy without breaking the bank. There are also some men’s items on the site.
Variety
La Senza has a large assortment of bras, panties, camis and teddies, sleepwear, loungewear, accessories, and some men’s items. Their sale prices are really low and items are adorable. I head to the sale section first when I shop there and always find something I want.
Navigation
The home page is tasteful and shows some of the many items and categories they have in picture form. You can click on a photo and go to that category or click on any category along the top to start shopping. There is a search feature as well to hone in on what you are looking for. From the home page you can access your account and go to customer care as well.
Once you’re inside the site, you can see several thumbnail photos of items in the category you chose. Click on a pic and it will take you to a full page where you can see a detailed photograph, description, and price (in both Canadian and American dollars) as well as matching accessories or items in the same line below the main photo. If you want an item, choose your size and click to put it into your cart.
When you have finished shopping, you will either need to fill out your personal info or put your email address and password in to bring up your saved information.
Shipping is free for orders over $39.00 in Canada and the US. For orders under that amount, in the US, shipping is a flat rate of $12.00CAD (Currently about $10.20 USD). There is a list of shipping costs for other countries on the site as they ship worldwide. In the US, it is much to your advantage to spend $39.00 and get the free shipping.
Once you input your major credit or debit card, you’re all set and will get a confirmation on the screen and a letter of confirmation. Another email will come when your order sends out with tracking.
You can sign up for their mailings which include their specials and sales plus some members only deals on the home page.
Navigation is simple and fairly routine.
My Shopping Experiences
I have shopped at La Senza for a few years and always been satisfied. I find the items to be unique and really cute. I did notice that some bras run a touch smaller than usual in certain styles but nothing way off base. If you’re almost a 38 but wear a 36, order a 38 on this site. If you’re a spilling over B cup, go to a C. My favorites are the cotton collection. They are all so bubbly and bright and fit really well. I enjoy the free shipping and no tax.
It used to take around 10 days or more for my order to arrive but since they have switched from DHL to UPS, I get my orders in three to four business days and that is with the free shipping included.
Orders come in a sturdy brown shipping box and, inside that, is a nice white gift box, with your items wrapped in tissue paper like they are gifts and not purchases. It’s always fun to get an order that is carefully wrapped and folded so neatly rather than stuffed into a poly bag.
I have returned only two items and it was painless and simple.
Customer service is friendly and helpful and I have nothing bad to say about this site. The quality of some items may not be as high as the much more expensive stores/sites (Right now they have bras on special 3 for $36.00CAD which is only $10.20 per bra and they also have some bras selling for $7.22 USD — find those prices at Fredericks or Victoria’s!) but I have never found anything to be defective or uncomfortable. I love everything I get from La Senza and I just keep going back for more.
Shipping and Returns
La Senza ships worldwide. In the US (and Canada), orders over $39.00 are free. The site says only orders in Canada are free but it applies to the US as well as I have ordered many, many times from them and never paid shipping. Orders under $39.00 cost about $10.00 flat rate to ship.
You can returns items with 30 days but they must be tagged and unworn. Panties cannot be returned due to health issues. You don’t need prior authorization. There is a return slip in the box which gives you a US and a Canadian address (obviously US citizens would return items to the US address). You pay for return shipping. Only refunds are given, no exchanges can be made.
This is pretty standard stuff. The no exchange policy is a pain but it is becoming more and more prevalent these days.

Conclusion
As a longtime shopper at La Senza, I can vouch that they are addicting. Their items are just so cute and inexpensive in general and they have a good variety of things to choose from and are adding more. It is a bit confusing with the dual Canadian and US dollars by the items but at least I know my items are always less than the advertised prices since the US dollar is worth more than the Canadian one. They do a good job or always having the US amount next to all items so there really isn’t a lot of confusion.
The packing is unique. You get a great gift box with your items wrapped in tissue paper and folded neatly. Everything is tagged and new and just so much fun to wear.
The no shipping over $39.00 policy and no tax sure helps. Their sales are great and their service is speedy and efficient.
While you won’t find super glamorous lingerie on this site, you will find some sexy items if that’s what you are looking for. You will also find playful ones and simple ones, as well as cute lounge and sleepwear and accessories. There is a new line of athletic wear that is really eye catching and reasonably priced.
This is not the biggest or most well know site on the net but it’s one of my personal favorites. I give it 5 stars. I have had no problems at all with the site, the products, customer service, or returns. And I save a load of money while shopping on this site over many American ones. Can’t beat that!
