I recently made an order through Harmony Buckles Online Store. This is a super simple little site that sells a few braided products, both for pets and people, but delivers big in every way.
What the Site Sells
This site sells handmade Harmony Buckle pet collars and leashes, key chains, bracelets, and a few other offerings. Almost everything has the patented "Harmony Buckle" on it, which is a yin yang type of plastic buckle that snaps into place and stays secure.
Navigation and Ordering
This site is SO simple, I almost passed it by. There are just a few category links and a nice "About Us" page which explains who Harmony is and how they started out. Their materials are all made in the USA and they hand make everything in their Colorado warehouse. The site is little but many resellers stock the famous Harmony Buckled products.
The site is easy to navigate and photos and descriptions are fine. The toughest thing is picking a color combo for your item.
You click to add items to your cart and when you are done shopping, head on off to the check out.
New costumers need to fill in the usual address form and pick a password. That takes a just a few seconds to do and then you are at the actual checkout. There, you will choose a shipping method from tons of options including UPS, USPS, and many others. They do ship internationally.
Your shipping charged are based on the method you choose. The cheapest in the US is $1.00 per item which is what I chose. I was in no hurry for the collar and bracelet I was buying. I later learned that, in my case, shipping would have been $1.00 cheaper if I chose Priority Mail so definitely check out your options.
You can stop there and send a check or pay by Visa or MasterCard. Fill in your details and it takes a few moments and you are confirmed.
You will get your confirmation email quickly and another when the order is sent out.
Although I picked the cheapest (as stated on their website anyway) shipping method, my order only took about a week from Colorado to New York, which I think is pretty good.
Packing is simple but secure.
My Experience
My little dog needed a new collar and leash and I just happened to find Harmony Buckles. He is only around 14 pounds with a scrawny neck and many stiff collars dig into his skin. Traditional buckles tend to open or loosen and I just wanted something different.
These braided collars struck me as different and soft. I got my dog a collar, leash, and myself a bracelet in the same pattern. We’re twins now and people DO remark on that which is on the embarrassing side actually. I also bought a couple of items as gifts since the prices were so low.
Picking the color combo was the hard part. After that, it was smooth sailing. It took only moments to have my order confirmed and into the system.
When it arrived, it was in a sturdy bubble wrap envelope.
The items were wrapped again in bubble wrap and were perfect. The buckles are really cool and I liked that I could adjust the collar like I would a bra strap (Guys, bear with me, it was all I could think of) rather than poking holes through the collar and having a lot of extra material flapping around my dog’s neck.
Workmanship is excellent! I love that every part of my order was made in the USA and that the items were handmade. They are soft but sturdy and really very cool. I plan to buy more from Harmony Buckles now that I know what to expect.
My dog loves his collar and the hair around his neck is back. He has no redness in the throat area and seems generally much more comfortable than when he was wearing a stiffer collar.
The rest of the items looked better than they did on the site and were made very well.
As you can tell, I am most happy with all aspects of this site.
Shipping and Returns
Shipping charges vary depending in which method you choose. The lowest in the US is $1.00 per item ordered.
However! Check the rates for USPS Priority Mail because, when I did that (after the fact), the rate was $4.05. I paid $5.00 shipping for five items. So do compare rates to be sure you get the best shipping price.
Returns are accepted within 15 days of receiving the items as long as they are in their original condition. Shipping charges are non-refundable.
Conclusion
Harmony Buckles makes great collars and leashes for your pets but also cute braided items for you as well. They also carry buckle key chains and other small products all made by them.
Their items are handmade, materials are all made and purchased in the US, and prices are very reasonable. And the quality is really, really good!
The site is as basic and as simple as you can get but I’m not rating this site on the design and how easy it is on my eyes. It’s easy to navigate and the products and service are great. I am going with 5 stars for the little site that delivers!
